We will give you a fairytale mountain experience just a stone’s throw from our resort: discover the scents, colours and sweet sounds of Alto Sangro and its surroundings with relaxing walks and hikes or opt for an adrenalin-fuelled descent to fun with our e-bike trails or, rafting or canyoning. Discover the thousand faces of your fairytale in Alto Sangro, a place where you can experience the ethereal beauty of the mountains.

Hiking in the mountains

We offer you the chance to enjoy unique experiences that only nature can give us, through wonderful hikes with good breathing and observation.

Difficulty: suitable for everyone from the age of 10.

Duration: about 2h to 6h

Location: Rivisondoli – Majella National Park – Abruzzo National Park

Equipment: trekking shoes, small backpack, hat, 1l water bottle. Sunglasses, spare T-shirt and socks, dried fruit, chocolate, energy bars.

Quad bike excursion

The route takes place on the Cinquemiglia plateau and includes a 20-minute stop at the Madonna del Casale, to discover breathtaking views, with an aperitif with typical local products and a bubbly. Briefing at 10.30 a.m. departure at 10.45 a.m. expected return at 1 p.m. Times and routes are subject to change. Duration 2 ½ hours approx. length approx. 32 km.

Starting from Valleverde you will cross spectacular landscapes until you reach Pizzalto, and then continue towards the enchanting Montepratello. Breathtaking Views Trail

A unique itinerary along a forest road through enchanting forests and green meadows. It starts at the arrival of the Montepratello cableway and, after 5 km, reaches the picturesque Lake Pantaniello. From here, continue towards the valley along the picturesque road of the Montagna Spaccata. Arriving on the Piana delle Cinquemiglia, we follow the wide panorama to the return point. This route can also be tackled in the opposite direction, always offering new emotions and extraordinary views.

Crete Rosse Trail

A good sense of direction is needed for this fascinating route. It starts from the arrival of the chairlift of Pizzalto and, after about 20 minutes, you reach the Crete Rosse refuge, where you can take a break and enjoy something to eat. From here, you continue through a beautiful beech forest downhill, then continue on an itinerary that alternates passages on the slopes of Montepratello and stretches immersed in the forest. An adventure that combines the pleasure of trekking with the natural beauty of the area.

Roe Deer Trail

This itinerary requires a good sense of direction. It begins at the arrival of the Pizzalto chairlift, following the Crete Rosse path until the sign indicating, on the right, the Capriolo path.

The descent continues until the exit from the forest. From here, you face a short uphill stretch on a dirt road before plunging back into the wood, continuing downhill until reaching the stazzo. The route continues for about 500 metres between ascents and descents, ending on the Direttissima track.

Bear Cradle Trail

Past the arrival of the Fontanile cable car, walk 200 metres on an uphill dirt road before turning left onto the path leading to the meadow area. The hike is characterised by short uphill sections with a rocky surface, alternating with stretches of beaten earth and gravel.

Paradise Trail

It starts from the arrival of the Pizzalto chairlift to the base of Hotel Pizzalto. The route has descents of medium difficulty with a rocky surface, alternating with stretches of beaten earth and gravel. Along the way, you will come across the Baita Paradiso (Paradise Hut), where you can take a break.

Pallottieri Trail

Arriving near the Crete Rosse chairlift, leave path number 2 and continue to the right following the Pallottieri path to the base of the Aremogna. The first part of the route offers spectacular panoramic views, while the second part is characterised by short descents with rocky terrain and flat sections in the forest.

An enchanting panoramic path winds along the slopes of Monte Pratello. Halfway along, there is a belvedere with a heart, perfect for taking souvenir photos. The downhill walk is characterised by a mixed surface of gravel and beaten earth, ideal for a pleasant hike.

St. Anthony’ Wood
